General Info

Walking into Goosefoot Chicago feels less like visiting a typical restaurant and more like stepping into a carefully curated culinary experience. Located at 4520 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60625, this fine dining spot is intimate, focused, and quietly confident in what it delivers. Everything here is intentional-from the pace of the meal to the way each dish unfolds on the table.

The menu leans toward thoughtful, seasonal creativity rather than excess, and that philosophy shows up clearly in the signature dishes. A refreshing Sorbet often arrives as a palate reset, clean and precise, balancing sweetness with natural acidity. On the richer end, the Foie Gras Truffle Mousse is smooth, layered, and indulgent without being overwhelming, offering deep flavor that lingers in a satisfying way. Dessert lovers tend to remember the Mousse Au Chocolat, which is light in texture yet full-bodied, finishing the meal on a comforting note.

Some plates feel almost poetic. The Pine Bud Custard Gooseberry Plum Seed Oil Preserved Fig dish brings together unexpected elements that somehow work in harmony-earthy, tart, and subtly sweet. Meanwhile, the Roasted Corn Soup Potatoes Espelette Sunflower Essence showcases how familiar ingredients can be elevated through technique, turning comfort flavors into something refined and memorable. Each course feels like a conversation between the kitchen and the guest, which is why reviews often highlight how personal the experience feels.

As a fine dining restaurant, Goosefoot Chicago focuses exclusively on dine-in service, and reservations are required. This approach allows the team to maintain a calm, attentive atmosphere where timing and detail matter. The space includes wheelchair-accessible seating and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring accessibility without compromising the intimate setting. Clean, well-maintained toilet facilities add to the overall comfort of the visit.

Location-wise, the restaurant sits comfortably within the neighborhood, making it feel like a hidden gem rather than a flashy destination. Guests who check menus and reviews ahead of time usually arrive with high expectations-and more often than not, those expectations are met with confidence. The experience here isn’t rushed or performative; it’s thoughtful, immersive, and grounded in genuine hospitality.

What customers say?

“ It was easy to reserve a table online. Nina, who runs the restaurant with her husband Chef Chris, called back to confirm the reservation and to ask about dietary restrictions. You enjoy a 11 course meal over 3 hours here. We absolutely enjoyed everything that they served us with. Soups, meat, desserts were all made to perfection. The presentation of food was excellent, with half the stuff looking like art pieces. Really difficult to pick a favorite. Portions were perfect, when we left this place we felt like we had had a good meal. The entire time Nina was making a conscious effort to make a conversation with every guest. The decor is nice. Background music was anything from classic rock to jazz. This place takes all necessary COVID-19 precautions. All in all, excellent dining experience. ”

“ Absolutely exceptional meal, wine pairing, and service. Their Michelin star and AAA-4 Diamond ratings are well deserved. We had always wanted to try Goosefoot and am glad we did celebrating our anniversary with them. The tasting menu was beyond delicious… Foie gras tart, truffle foam summer soup, perfectly cooked duck and diver scallops. And the service from Natalia and Nina was 5-stars. I very highly recommend you try them!! ”

“ Thank you Chris & Nina for a lovely dinner experience! Each course was excellent, well-paced, and exquisitely presented ... a perfect blend of art & cuisine at its best. Leisurely dining that allows you to savor each course and prepare for the next. We were seated at 8pm and didn't finish until after 11pm ... as expected for a 9+ course meal. Highly recommend purchasing wine pairings from their market/wine shop. They will wrap up any unfinished bottles to take home with you. Intimate dining experience with a personal touch. Nina shared stories from her trip to our home state of Virginia and we look forward to returning to Goosefoot the next time we're in Chicago. Loved the Woodstock '69 theme and history discussion. Much love to this power couple and their vision for fine dining! ”

“ What an impeccable dining establishment! The ambiance is extremely intimate, the 11-course summer tasting menu is absolutely outstanding, and the service is top-notch. The truffle ceviche 2st course really set the bar for the entire meal. Never has any one meal smashed so many flavor combinations into a thoughtful and well put-together series of dishes and been so well executed. I tip my hat to the chef, as he has really done a great job of creating thought-provoking dishes. I look forward to experiencing this establishment again in the future. It was a nice added touch of both the box of silverware and the BYOB option. ”

“ Truly a phenomenal experience from start to finish. Every dish was delicious. Service was impeccable. The fact that this is a solo-chef kitchen is incredible. I was full by the end of course 3 but pushed through to course 5 before I had to stop. The owners were so accommodating in packaging up the remaining courses for me. Our favorite courses were the starter soup, steak, and custard. Loved that it was a low-key atmosphere and not pretentious, so it was a comfortable first try of Michelin-star fare. Highly recommend giving this place a try! ”

“ I’m a bit disappointed that some of the recent reviewers didn’t post any pictures, so that the rest of the world can get an idea of how the food looks. It doesn’t matter if you write a super wordy post. No pictures can lead to readers losing interest. I’ll attach some pictures so that people can get an idea of the tasting. I came here awhile ago for my birthday. It wasn’t full so the evening was kind of quiet. We just used an Uber to get here. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. Service was amazing. You definitely feel at home, getting ready for a multicourse home-cooked meal. Food was magnificent. Easily in my top 5 favorite Michelin restaurants. Each course seemed to get better and better. It’s hard to choose a favorite as I loved each dish. It’s $175 without taxes and tip for the tasting. That’s without a wine pairing. Yes, that’s per person. Highly recommended. I hope my pictures give you some sort of idea of what to expect. ”

“ Our dinner at Goosefoot was really lovely! Every dish was a hit and we thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic flavors! Beside the great food, I loved how the restaurant operates as a BYOB with the option to purchase wine directly from them. We opted to purchase wine in advance and it was perfectly chilled and waiting for us once we arrived at the restaurant. Nina made it so easy for us to just sit back and enjoy our meal with our wine! I especially appreciated that the restaurant is still following COVID protocols. Personally, I really loved that there was a divider between each table; it's great for heath purposes but also offers a level of privacy that is really nice as well. Overall, this is a great spot to dine at in Chicago and I highly recommend! ”

“ Every single dish tasted so amazing. Nina was so nice and so was our other waitress! The pine bud custard is one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever had! I highly recommend coming here you will not be let down! All of the plating is beautiful as well. ”
